I downloaded the (link below) Audio Driver SigmaTel… Nonetheless, I went to Sony’s European support site for VAIO and found another 64-bit SigmaTel driver using the same search technique. Talked to a Sony Tech Support and I was told to bookmark the url and keep checking. To my surprise these new desktop PCs still use the SigmaTel chip. I tried to download the 64-bit audio driver but there seems to be a problem with the page - it wasn’t loading. I went back to Sony’s US support website () and browsed a Desktop PC (in this case the LT series) to see if it maybe using a 64-bit SigmaTel audio driver. However, I thought of an idea and see if it would work. My last resort is to disable the audio from the BIOS and get myself a PCI new audio card. I downloaded the IDT (SigmaTel 64-bit driver) from Dell, Gateway and HP but none of these worked. Latest download for Digital Output Device (SPDIF Out) (SigmaTel High Definition Audio CODEC (for 64-bit Windows)) driver. I googled for the net and found out that many folks did ran into the same problem after upgrading to 64-bit Vista. I checked Sony’s support site for my PC model but they don’t seem to have a 64-bit version of the SigmaTel HD Audio Driver.
The 'music, 3d content and movie' buttons work and also the bottom. I got Beats control panel installed and the sounds working but seems the 'beats audio' click button and equalizer doesnt make a difference. Had similar problems, Downloaded and updated my driver.

It seems the default drivers included in Windows 7 are maybe only 32 bit compatible? Dell thankfully offers set of Windows Vista drivers from their website Dell thankfully offers a set of Windows Vista drivers from their FTP site that supports both 32bit and 64bit.

Thankfully I found a simple solution you simply have to manually install the Windows Vista, Sigma Tel HD Audio drivers onto your 64bit Windows 7. If you search the internet for Sigma Te High Definition Audio there is not much in the way of helpful results.

Unfortunately after installing a fresh copy of Windows 7 64 bit no audio could be heard, even though the volume was up at full and all the device drivers reported did not any problems.
